dc.description.abstractO objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar os aspectos quantitativos, qualitativos e locacionais da arborização existente em escolas públicas voltadas à educação básica no município de Nova Iguaçu, RJ, que, em 2015 contava com 137 unidades escolares, abrigando 59.636 alunos distribuídos nas categorias: educação infantil, ensino fundamental e educação de jovens e adultos. Foram selecionadas 21 escolas para compor a amostra, das quais foram coletadas informações cadastrais, aspectos educacionais e sobre a vegetação existente. Os resultados mostraram que, em média, cada estabelecimento educacional ocupa 3.000 m2 de área total, dos quais 60% representam áreas livres, onde se encontra implantada a vegetação, categorizada como: árvores, frutíferas, ornamentais e palmeiras. Leucena, Albizia e a Cássia-amarela foram às espécies arbóreas mais frequentes enquanto que a Goiabeira ocupa esse lugar entre as frutíferas. Os valores médios por estabelecimento de ensino avaliado mostram que a cobertura vegetal dos mesmos atende a alguns requisitos básicos existentes na literatura e na legislação vigente, quais sejam: apresentar 30% da área total destinada a cobertura por vegetação e destinar, no mínio, 1 m² de área descoberta para cada aluno, por turno da escola.pt_BR

We selected 21 schools for the sample and we collected including registration information, educational aspects and the existing vegetation. The results showed that on average, each educational establishment occupies 3,000 m² of total area, of which 60% represent free areas, where it is established vegetation, categorized as: trees, fruitful, ornamental and palm trees. Leucena, Albizia and Cassia amarela were the most common tree species while goiabeira tree occupies that place among the fruitful. The average values for rated educational institutions show that the vegetation cover comply with some existing basic requirements in the literature and current legislation, namely: to present 30% of the total area for coverage by vegetation and intended, in minium, 1 m² play area for each student by school shift.pt_BR
