The agroforest systems are an alternative for the protected and preserved areas recovery, since they link the food production, preservation and the conservation of natural resources. The objective of this study was to compare three spatial models in the density distribution of fine roots as a function of the total clay content in an agroforest system. In an agroforest system, which is located at Fazendinha Agroecológica in the km 47, were collected 31 soil samples, in established depth classes of 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm and 20-40 cm, in which each point collected was georeferenced. The soil samples were air dried, grounded, and sieved through a sieve with a 2 mm grid for posterior total clay content determination (%). The fine roots were classified with diameters until 2 mm, dried at a greenhouse and weighted to the density determination. The weighted averages of the variables between the depth of each point were calculated. For the spatialization of the area vegetation, a forest inventory, classifying in tree layers and regeneration, was accomplished, and the cartesian coordinates were collected to each individual. ArcGIS 10.2 software was used to interpolate and adjust the semi variance models, and later employing the spatial interpolation through the first order ordinary Kriging to analyze the spatialization of the fine roots density and the total clay quantity. Also, the program was used to the vegetal components distribution in the area. The best model was selected through its statistics accuracy. According to the results, the exponential model was the one in which represented the best performance for the two analyzed variables. The exponential model map to the total clay content presented the major distribution in the lower slope region, this fact probably occurred because of the erosion in the place. About the fine roots density, it was observed a higher root growth in regions with higher concentration of regenerations and lower clay content, as the root spatialization is influenced by the species type and the region edaphoclimatic conditions. The exponential model could be applied in this agroforest system to analyze the spatial distribution of the clay content and the fine roots density.pt_BR
