The objective of the present work was to qualify and to quantify the road arborization in the Center of Santa Cruz's neighborhood, pertaining to the West area of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was acquired a map with scale 1:10000 of the neighborhood, where the central area was separate for the work. It was divided in you square of 1x1 cm totaling 281 small squares. Initially they had been drafted randomly and without replacement 15 samples with 1ha of area for the pilot inventory. The samples had been traveled and the data collected in one field spread sheet. The data had been processed getting one intensity amostral of 23,63 and a error of 0,31 . It was necessary then to draft more 15 samples. It was obtained an error of 0,29 and one intensity amostral of 20,75. Was traveled across 7,91 km, finding 183 trees distributed among of 21 species. Pachira aquatica, Delonix regia and Terminalia catappa represent meetings 51,96% of the species total. These three species also presented the largest frequency of conflicts being the Pachira aquatica representative of 38,9% of the conflicts with the wiring, 30% of the conflicts with the traffic and 78,1% of the conflicts with the pavement. The Delonix regia represents 20,8% of the conflicts with the wiring. And the Terminalia catappa represents 15,6% of the conflicts with the pavement. One concludes that the road arborization of the city is insufficient, however 81.5% of the showed population were classified as good.pt_BR
