Abstract: Recent interests in hydrological modeling of the ground have extended the necessity of information on the depth and movement of the water of the ground in the landscape in different space and secular scales. Currently, given on depth of the water level they are collected mainly from the use of wells of comments However, those techniques supply punctual information, what limits an analysis in areas of soils of complex and contrasting patterns, relief accident victim and of material no homogeneous or anisotropic material. The depth of the water level influences indirectly influences indirectly on the vegetable growth, because it can aid in the conditioning of the humidity of the profile, of the aeration conditions and in the thermal properties of the soil. The type of vegetable covering also exercises strong influence in the dynamics of the water level, so much aiding in the infiltration, favoring the recharge of the same, as of loss through the evaporation tree. Diverse methods exist to study the dynamics of the water level, amongst them, the Ground Penetration Radar - GPR or to georadar, that is still little used in Brazil for studies of that nature, being more applied in geophysical studies. This work had as objective to study the depth of the water level in the presence of different uses of the ground being used radar of penetration of the ground (GPR) and to evaluate the reply of the device in function of the type of ground used. The choice of the areas you show was possible through the interpretation of images of the Google Earth, gotten in June of 2007. The interpretation of the images searched to recognize type of use of the ground and transistion areas enter the classrooms considered for this study. Two areas of transistion of type of use of the ground had been evaluated, being the following transistions: Pasture X Eucalipto and Pasture X native Forest. In each one of the areas three transectos of approximately 40 meters of length for 1 meter of width had been covered, always using bands of transistion of classrooms of use of the ground. The water level was evidenced in all the radargramas well, represented for a strong, continuous and subhorizontal reflector. Of general form alteration in the depth of the water level in function to the use of the ground was not observed, only changes of the reflector indicating probable more superficial in layers zones of bigger humidity in the busy areas for forest. The equipment also was efficient in indicating the depth accomplishes of the ground, differentiating horizons superficial in relation to the regholitics layers.
