Abstract: The multiple use of the forests planted for the industrial sector of forest products comes gradualy increasing. Today, the use of the eucalypts wood for nobler uses already is a reality. However, some limitations as the presence of growth stresses still are responsible for high lost in the sector. The growth stresses generate cracks in the tops of logs and boards followed by warpings. In this context, the objectives of the present work were to evaluate the growth stresses in different diametric and height in individuals of E. citriodora Hook and E. urophylla S.T Blake by no destructive measurement method of the longitudinal residual deformation (DRL), around the circunference of trees. The effect of the diameter in E. citriodora evidenced significant and negative correlation with the DRL, while the height did not show significant correlation when compared with the DRL. For E. urophylla we observe negative and significant correlation shetween growth and hoth variable, DAP and height. It that means growth stresses these with was lower for greater DAPs and heights. The results demonstration that longitudinal residual deformations associate to the growth stresses of E. citriodora and E. urophylla, were of 0,106 and 0,092 mm, respectivy.
