Abstract: This work had as objective to verify the influence of the spacing of plantation in the growth of six native forest species of the Brazilian flora, to the 22 months of age, in plantations of forest resetting, the Basin of Guandu River, and to get the costs of implantation and maintenance of this resetting, until the age of 25 months. The experiment was installed, between October and December of 2004, in the SFE - thermoelectrial Plant Barbosa Lima Sobrinho, pertaining Petrobras, located in km 200 of the Highway President Dutra, City of Seropédica-RIO DE JANEIRO. 48 wood species had been used, established with a spacing of 1,0 x 0,5; 1,0 x 1,0; 1,5 x 1,0; 1,5 x 1,5; 2,0 x 1,5; 2,0 x 2,0 and 3,0 x 2,0 m, which the treatments constitute. To the 22 months after plantation, evaluated the growth in height of the aerial part, the diameter to the level of the ground (DNS) and the width of the pantry (directions longitudinal and transversal to the plantation line), of 10 plants for spacing, Anadenanthera macrocarp Benth. Brenan (angico vermelho), Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi (aroeira pimenteira), Schizolobium parahyba Blake (guapuruvu), speciosa Chorisia St. Hill (paineira), Cordia superba Cham. (babosa white) and Inga marginata (ingá). Immediately afterwards, to the 23 months, they had been placed in each spacing, five samples of 1,5 x 1,5 m, for evaluation of the weed competition. As maintenance, 10 five manual weedings had been carried through (2, 5, 11, 14 and 17 months after plantation) and clearing to the 25 months. Since the phase of implantation until the maintenance phase, all the costs of output and hand of workmanship had been computed. It was evidenced that the spacing had significant influence in the initial growth, to the 22 months, of all the species. In general, in the amplest spacing, the plants had presented greater growth. The more accumulated the spacing biggest the implantation cost, mainly had to the costs of the changes. Until the age of 25 months, the maintenance cost is bigger in the amplest spacing, had the biggest presence of the weed competition.
